Fall Schedule is up

Dear fellow practitioners,

We've finally updated our schedule for the fall and will go into effect on October 1. I hope that you will be happy to note several changes and (hopefully) improvements. Official start times for weekday mornings will be moved back by 15 minutes with opening mantra at 6:45am. Of course, I'm always in the shala by 5am, so you are welcome to start early.

1.) First off, we are expanding the Evening Mysore to 4 nights Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please note that the Monday class will be a bit earlier 5:00-6:30pm while Tues, Thurs, & Fri are from 5:30-7pm.

2.) The Sunday Mysore will begin at 7:45 sharp. This workshop style class will give us a chance to explore some of the essential techniques of the practice as a group and a chance to experience this through the assisted self practice format. We will open together with mantra and experiential techniques then move into self practice. At around 9am, we will move toward back bending, finishing, and closing mantra as a group.
I feel this "structured Mysore" will give us a chance to refine and explore the practice in greater detail.

3.) Wednesday morning Mysore will now be an "integration day." The instructor will practice with the class and will be available for moral support, but will not be adjusting. This will give us a chance to bond as a group of yogi's (and me a chance to sleep in a little on Wednesdays.)

4.) Friday morning will now be a Guided Vinyasa class. This class provides instruction in the core techniques of Ashtanga & Vinyasa Yoga including breath, bandha, and concentration with precise vinyasa of each posture counted through in Sanskrit.

These updates to the schedule reflect the growth and maturity of the yoga school. We are in the planning stages of several workshops and trainings in the near future. I appreciate your thoughts and feedback. You may reach me directly through the shala email ashtangapaloalto@gmail.com or by phone 650-215-3777.

Thank you for your continued enthusiasm for the practice of yoga,
Adarsh
